In BenchmarkONE, you can create an event for a large list (trade show or date-specific promotion) or for a single contact (birthday or renewal date). You can then tie this date to an Event-Based Campaign to communicate with your contacts both leading up to and following the event.

Your options for Event frequency are: once, weekly, monthly, semi-annually, annually, every 15 days, every 2 weeks, and every 3 weeks.

Creating an Event during Import:

Note: If you'd like to tie an event based campaign to the event you're importing, we suggest creating and saving this in BenchmarkONE prior to import.

If you have an event as a column in your CSV file (ex: Birthday or Renewal date), You can select "Event" from the drop-down during import and quickly tie this date and event to your Contacts

  • First, name your event and click "create"

In the next pop out window you will create the event details:

  • Select the frequency of this event

  • Check the box if you'd like to tie an Event based campaign to this particular event

  • Decide whether or not you'd like to import this event if the contact already exists in your database.

  • If the event you are importing is in the past and you choose a frequency of once we will NOT run the campaign

  • If the event you are importing is in the past and you choose a frequency other than once, the campaign will wait to run until the next future run date based on the frequency.

From the Contact list view

  • Filter and select the contacts that you'd like to create an Event for

  • Click the Actions drop-down and choose "Add Contacts to Event"

  • Choose an existing Event from the drop-down or click +New Event

  • Select the frequency of this event

  • Check the box if you'd like to tie an existing Event based campaign to this particular event

For a Single Contact:

  • Go to the Contact Record, then to the Events tab and click + New Event

  • Choose an existing Event from the drop-down or click + New Event

  • Select the frequency of this event

  • Check the box if you'd like to tie an existing Event based campaign to this particular event

Create an Event via an Automation:

  • From within any action that offers Automation (Ex: Online Forms), Select Edit Automations, and then + New Automation (if the form already exists). Or choose + New Automation when creating a new online form (for example).

  • Select Add to Event

  • Choose an existing Event from the drop-down or click + New Event

  • Select the frequency of this event

  • Check the box if you'd like to tie an existing Event based campaign to this particular event

  • Check the box if you'd like to only run this Automation the first time the contact submits this form (for example).

  • After selecting Add Step, select Continue to save the Automation. Now when a contact submits this online form, they will have the Event automatically added to their record.
