** Note: For any form to be live, be sure you have added site code to your website. Learn more about Adding Site Code.

From the Landing Pages & Popups dashboard, head to your Popups & Pages List View and use the dropdown to Create New > Form:

Template

Select your form type (embedded, scrollbox, topbar or popover), then choose a template to use as a starting point. You will be able to customize the design and add your own text/images in the following steps. To select the template you would like, hover over the thumbnail and select Use Template

A popup will appear. Give your form a descriptive title (for internal use only) and select the button Start Building.

Message

Add your own touch! Complete the headline, description, foot note and thank you message text for the form, or you may choose to keep them blank.

Clicking in to each text box will bring up formatting options:

If you chose a form template that includes an image, click Upload Image to find previously uploaded images or to upload a new image.

Click "Next" in the top navigation bar when you are ready to move forward.

Appearance

Customization is at your fingertips! Depending on the form template you chose (embedded, scrollbox, topbar or popover) your available options will differ here.

Colors
Choose colors for your form, button and background overlay.

Size
Choose from small, medium, large or extra large popups.

Animate on Open
Animations catch attention of visitors. Choose an animation for opening the popup, or choose "None."

Branding
Choose to keep "powered by BenchmarkONE" or remove it.

Inject Custom CSS
Type or paste custom css in the text box to make the form blend seamlessly with your website or landing page.

Click "Next" in the top navigation bar when you are ready to move forward.

Fields

Required and Hidden Group Fields
Email Address -- BenchmarkONE uses email address to match to existing contacts in the system, so this field is always required. Email address will be a field accessible in the form.
Sales Rep & Contact Status --  These are required fields, but will be hidden from the visitor. The selection defaults to the first user and contact status in the list. Clicking the "Edit" button will allow you to make changes. The selection chosen for these fields will be the same for all contacts who submit the form.

Additional Field Options
To add additional contact and custom field options, choose from the Add New Field dropdown. To add a tag, select the Add New Hidden Field dropdown.  Note that only one tag can be added and the tag selected here will be applied to all contacts who submit the form.

Click "Next" in the top navigation bar when you are ready to move forward.

** Note: If the contact already exists in your database, some data is appended to the existing record and some will be overwritten.

Data That is Overwritten:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Company

  • Title

  • Status

  • Sales Rep

  • Website

  • Custom Fields

Data That is Appended or Added as Additional Information on the Record:

  • Phone Numbers

  • Street Addresses (including city, state, zip code, and country)

Behavior

Here you will choose behavior options for the form. Depending on the form template you chose (embedded, scrollbox, topbar or popover) your options will differ here.

When to Show
Choose your trigger point and hide duration once a contact has seen the popup, and choose to auto hide or show the popup when the contact scrolls back up the page.

Position
Applicable for topbar form type only. Specify if the form should appear at the top or bottom of the page, and if it should move along with scrolling.

Closing the Bar
Applicable for topbar form type only. Allow or disallow visitors to close the bar, and specify how many days the form should remain hidden.

After User Subscribes
Specify a URL to redirect the contact to once they have successfully subscribed. This is optional. If not redirecting, the popup will simply close.

Display Rules
Choose which devices and pages the form should appear. Toggle the device options on or off. For pages, choose where the form should or should not appear. You may add several rules if needed.

Content Gate
Applicable for popup form type only. Specify if the visitor is unable to close a popup until they subscribe. This feature is great for content gating resource downloads.

Tracking Pixels
Tracking pixels let you send impression and conversion data to your favorite analytics services (Google Analytics, Facebook, etc). You can use 2 types of tracking pixels:

  1. View Pixel -- These are triggered when a visitor views your form.

  2. Subscribe Pixel -- These are triggered when a visitor successfully subscribes to your form. You can also pass in subscriber's email address by typing [EMAIL].

Spam Protection
Forms come with 2 layers of protection to prevent abuse and spam. Our built-in protection cannot be turned off. If you would like to add a second layer of protection, choose to enable Google's ReCAPTCHA.

Click "Next" in the top navigation bar when you are ready to move forward.

Publish

You've designed the form and identified fields and behaviors. Now you're ready to publish! Use the toggle to publish the form.

If you have created an embedded form, you will see the code provided in this view:

Proceed to Finish to close and save!

Once a visitor submits their information to the form, that activity will be tracked on the contact's record within BenchmarkONE. Check out the activity feed on the Sales Dashboard to see who is submitting forms in real time.
