How to Convert Your File to UTF-8 Encoding

To import a file into BenchmarkONE, it needs to be UTF-8 encoded. View instructions for converting your file.

To import a file into BenchmarkONE, it needs to be UTF-8 encoded. If you get the following message during import, your file will need to be converted before importing.

Here are instructions for converting your file to UTF-8 encoding:

Microsoft Excel:

  1. Open your file in Excel

  2. File > Save As

  3. Save as type: CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited) (*.csv)

  4. Save the file

  5. Proceed with importing the new file

Google Sheets:

*By default, Google Sheets saves in UTF-8 

  1. Open your file in Google Drive

  2. File > Download as > Comma-separated values (.csv) OR Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)

  3. Proceed with importing the saved file

Apple Numbers:

  1. Open your file in Apple Numbers

  2. File > Export to > .CSV

  3. Select the Advanced Options dropdown and choose Unicode (UTF-8) under the Text Encoding dropdown

  4. Select Next, then select Export

  5. Proceed with importing your file
